IT Systems & Remote Access Specialist for Law Firms

Wayver Law is a New Delhi based law firm advising businesses on intellectual property, corporate and commercial matters. We are looking for an experienced IT professional on a short-term contractual basis to set up a secure remote working environment for our team.
About the Role
The role involves setting up a secure system through which interns and team members can remotely access a firm-controlled Windows computer or virtual desktop and work on firm documents and applications.
The setup should allow remote working while restricting unauthorized downloading, copying or transfer of confidential firm and client documents.
This is a one-time contractual role and not a full-time IT support position.
Responsibilities
• Recommend and set up a suitable remote desktop or virtual PC solution.
• Configure Windows user accounts and access permissions.
• Set up secure remote access for team members working from personal computers.
• Configure access to Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and other required applications.
• Restrict downloads, file transfers, clipboard access, USB access and similar methods of transferring firm documents, where technically feasible.
• Restrict access to unauthorized websites, personal cloud storage and file-sharing services where required.
• Configure passwords, MFA and other basic security settings.
• Ensure users do not have administrator access or the ability to change security settings.
• Set up a simple process for adding and removing users.
• Test the complete setup before handover.
• Provide a short handover explaining how the system can be managed internally.
Experience
• 2+ years of relevant experience in desktop support, Windows administration, IT infrastructure, remote desktop environments or endpoint management.
• Prior experience with law firms, professional services firms or other organizations handling confidential information would be preferred.
Required Skills
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11.
• Experience with remote desktop or virtual desktop solutions.
• Experience managing Windows user accounts, permissions and security settings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Understanding of endpoint security, access controls and data protection.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune or similar tools would be an advantage.
• Ability to recommend a practical and cost-effective solution for a small organization.
