Role Description The Preservation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for planning and implementing asset preservation and integrity management activities. This role involves assessing asset conditions, preparing preservation plans, coordinating with operations and maintenance teams, and supervising field execution of preservation work. The Preservation Engineer will support the selection and application of preservation technologies and chemical products, monitor performance, and recommend improvements to extend asset life. Day-to-day tasks include site inspections, data collection and reporting, adherence to safety and quality standards, and collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
Qualifications
Engineering knowledge in mechanical, chemical, or related disciplines, with understanding of asset integrity, corrosion, and preservation methods.
Experience in industrial environments such as oil and gas, marine, petrochemical, manufacturing, or other asset-heavy sectors.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications, and translate them into practical preservation plans.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing asset condition and recommending corrective actions.
Competence in project coordination, planning, and time management to handle multiple on-site activities and deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and interact professionally with clients.
Commitment to safe work practices, quality standards, and compliance with relevant industry regulations and company policies.
Proficiency with basic office and engineering software tools for documentation, reporting, and data analysis.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent practical experience in asset preservation.
Willingness to travel to client sites when required and work in industrial environments.
