We are looking for a talented 2D Illustration Artist who can bring educational concepts, characters, stories, and digital learning experiences to life through appealing and age-appropriate illustrations.
Role Overview
As a 2D Illustration Artist, you will be responsible for creating illustrations and visual assets for GrowthEd’s animated video content and educational content.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of visual storytelling, character design, composition, colour theory, and age-appropriate educational communication.
Key Responsibilities
Create original 2D illustrations for educational content and videos.
Develop engaging characters, environments, icons, props, and visual scenes based on creative briefs.
Translate complex educational concepts into simple, clear, and visually appealing illustrations.
Create illustrations suitable for different age groups, especially school-age children and young learners.
Collaborate with instructional designers, content writers, animators, designers, and marketing teams.
Follow established brand guidelines, visual styles, colour palettes, and design systems.
Produce rough sketches, storyboards, concept designs, and final artwork.
Make revisions based on feedback while maintaining consistency in style and quality.
Prepare artwork in appropriate formats for digital platforms, print materials, animation, and video production.
Create illustrations for campaigns, events, social media posts, advertisements, and other promotional content.
Maintain organised source files, including editable files, layers, assets, and final exports.
Stay updated with current illustration styles, educational design trends, and digital creative tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or relevant training in Fine Arts, Illustration, Graphic Design, Animation, or a related field.
2–7 years of experience as a 2D Illustrator, Visual Designer, Concept Artist, or similar role.
Strong portfolio demonstrating character design, storytelling, educational illustrations, and visual creativity.
Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or similar software.
Good understanding of colour theory, composition, proportions, perspective, and visual hierarchy.
Ability to create illustrations in different styles and adapt to brand requirements.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Ability to understand creative briefs and work within deadlines.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to accept feedback and revise artwork effectively.
