Role Description The Area Sales Manager – Publishing and EdTech role is a full-time, on-site position based in Jaipur. The role involves managing and growing sales for educational publishing and EdTech products within the assigned territory, including schools, colleges, coaching centers, and other institutional partners. Responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, planning and executing sales visits, product presentations, and promotional activities, and ensuring timely follow-up to convert leads into long-term partnerships. The Area Sales Manager will track market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support product positioning and regional strategies, while coordinating closely with the central marketing and sales teams. The role also requires regular reporting on sales performance, forecasting, territory planning, and participation in academic events, exhibitions, and teacher outreach programs to strengthen brand presence.
Qualifications
Proven experience in educational publishing, EdTech sales, or academic marketing, with strong territory management and institutional sales skills.
Ability to build and sustain relationships with educators, school and college administrators, distributors, and channel partners.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to conduct product demonstrations and academic workshops.
Comfort with using digital tools and platforms for sales reporting, CRM, online meetings, and EdTech product demonstrations.
Analytical skills to interpret sales data, identify growth opportunities, and provide market feedback for product and content improvement.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or MBA is an advantage.
Prior experience in the Jaipur region is preferred, along with willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
