Image Description Specialist (AI Training)
About the Role
What if your eye for detail could directly shape how AI understands the visual world? We're looking for Image Description Specialists to write clear, vivid, and accurate descriptions of images that help AI systems learn to interpret and process visual content.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with strong observational skills and a talent for descriptive writing. No photography, art, or AI background required — just a sharp eye and a commitment to quality.

What You'll Do
Write detailed, accurate descriptions of a wide variety of images — including photographs, illustrations, diagrams, charts, and more
Identify and articulate key visual elements such as objects, scenes, actions, spatial relationships, and context
Follow structured guidelines to ensure consistency in description format, depth, and detail level
Label and categorize visual content to support AI training workflows
Maintain high accuracy and quality standards across large batches of images
Work independently on task-based assignments at your own pace
Who You Are
Strong observational skills — you notice things others might miss
Clear, descriptive writer who can paint a picture with words
Detail-oriented and consistent, even across repetitive tasks
Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
Comfortable working through a high volume of visual content
No photography, art, or AI experience required
Nice to Have
Background in writing, editing, journalism, or communications
Experience with accessibility work, such as writing alt text or image captions
Familiarity with visual content platforms or annotation tools
