Medical Superintendent

Role Description The Medical Superintendent at Sterling Hospitals Gandhidham will oversee the overall clinical operations and hospital administration to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This full-time, on-site role involves coordinating with medical, nursing, and administrative teams, monitoring adherence to clinical protocols, and supporting compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Medical Superintendent will participate in planning and implementing quality improvement initiatives, manage clinical governance processes, and help optimize resource utilization, including staffing and hospital facilities. Daily responsibilities include supervising patient safety measures, addressing clinical escalations, supporting ethical medical practices, and collaborating with department heads to enhance service delivery. The role also includes contributing to strategic planning, supporting training and development of clinical staff, and fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Strong experience in hospital administration and clinical management, preferably as a Medical Superintendent or in a similar leadership role.
Demonstrated skills in clinical governance, quality assurance, and compliance with NABH/NABL or equivalent accreditation standards.
Proficiency in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, stakeholder management, and collaborative decision-making in a hospital setting.
Ability to implement and monitor patient safety protocols, ethical medical practices, and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and crisis-management skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and patient-centric care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage constructively with clinicians, nursing staff, administrative teams, and patients.
Medical degree with postgraduate qualification in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or a relevant clinical specialty is highly preferred.
Prior experience working in multi-speciality or corporate hospitals, particularly in India, will be an added advantage.
