Functional Consultant — ERPNext
Location: Chennai | Experience: 1–2 years | Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for an ERPNext Functional Consultant to help translate client business needs into working ERP solutions. You will work closely with clients to understand their processes, configure ERPNext to fit, and support them through implementation and go-live. This is a client-facing role that combines business analysis, hands-on system configuration, and ongoing support across a range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather and document business requirements through client discussions and process mapping.
• Configure ERPNext modules to align with client workflows across finance, inventory, sales, purchasing, and operations.
• Conduct gap analysis between client needs and standard ERPNext functionality, and propose practical solutions.
• Prepare functional specifications for any customizations and coordinate with the technical team.
• Perform data migration planning, testing, and validation.
• Drive user acceptance testing (UAT), resolve issues, and prepare clients for go-live.
• Deliver end-user training and create supporting documentation.
• Provide post-implementation support and handle change requests.
Required Skills & Experience
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience implementing or supporting an ERP system.
• Equivalent experience in any ERP platform is welcome — ERPNext, Zoho, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle NetSuite.
• Strong understanding of business processes, operations, and end-to-end ERP implementation.
• Practical experience in one or more domains: manufacturing, retail, accounts and finance, or supply chain.
• Ability to map client processes to system functionality and explain trade-offs clearly.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.
• Structured, detail-oriented approach to documentation and testing.
ERPNext Modules
Hands-on familiarity with one or more of the following modules (not all are expected):
• Accounting & Tax (GST) compliance, including understanding of ledger impact.
• Manufacturing.
• Procurement.
• Selling.
• Inventory Management.
Good to Have
• Prior experience specifically with ERPNext or the Frappe framework.
• Exposure to GST, Indian accounting, or statutory compliance requirements.
• Basic understanding of how customizations and reports are built.
• Experience running UAT and training sessions for business users.
