Job Overview
We are looking for a technically sound, responsible, and execution-focused Project / Site Engineer to manage and supervise the on-site execution of PEB and structural steel projects.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, structural steel erection, manpower and resources, subcontractors, safety, quality, measurements, project documentation, and progress reporting while ensuring work is executed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and committed project schedules.
The role requires strong site coordination, problem-solving ability, technical understanding of PEB structures, and effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities / KRAs1. Site Execution & Supervision
Plan, supervise, and monitor day-to-day site activities for PEB and structural steel projects. Ensure execution is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
2. PEB & Structural Steel Erection
Supervise the erection of primary and secondary structural members, columns, rafters, bracing systems, purlins, girts, roofing, wall cladding, accessories, and other PEB components while maintaining correct alignment, levels, and structural accuracy.
3. Drawing & Technical Coordination
Study and interpret GA drawings, erection drawings, Anchor Bolt (AB) drawings, fabrication drawings, and other technical documents before execution. Identify discrepancies and coordinate with engineering/design teams for timely clarification.
4. Project Planning & Scheduling
Prepare and follow daily, weekly, and monthly execution plans. Monitor site progress against the approved project schedule and take corrective action to minimize delays.
5. Manpower & Resource Management
Plan and coordinate site manpower, erection teams, equipment, cranes, tools, consumables, and other resources to ensure optimum utilization and uninterrupted execution.
6. Contractor & Subcontractor Management
Supervise contractors and erection agencies, monitor their productivity and quality, verify completed work, and ensure compliance with project requirements, safety procedures, and committed schedules.
7. Quality Control
Ensure erection and installation activities meet approved quality standards, drawings, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements. Coordinate inspections and rectify non-conformities promptly.
8. Site Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with EHS/site safety requirements, including PPE usage, work-at-height procedures, lifting practices, crane operations, housekeeping, toolbox talks, and other applicable safety protocols.
9. Client & Consultant Coordination
Coordinate professionally with clients, consultants, contractors, and other site stakeholders regarding progress, inspections, technical clarifications, execution priorities, and project requirements.
10. Internal Coordination
Coordinate with project management, design & detailing, production, PPC, quality, dispatch, purchase, and other internal departments to ensure timely availability of drawings, materials, and technical information.
11. Material Management
Monitor receipt, unloading, identification, storage, handling, and consumption of structural steel and other project materials. Report shortages, damages, excess quantities, or discrepancies promptly.
12. Measurement & Quantity Verification
Verify site measurements and quantities of completed work and maintain accurate records for progress tracking, contractor billing, reconciliation, and project documentation.
13. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Prepare and maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPR), weekly/monthly progress reports, manpower reports, material status, erection progress, site photographs, and other project MIS.
14. Problem Resolution
Identify site constraints, technical issues, material shortages, drawing discrepancies, resource limitations, and execution challenges. Coordinate with concerned teams for timely resolution to avoid project delays.
15. Documentation & Record Management
Maintain organized records of approved drawings, revisions, inspection reports, site instructions, material records, measurements, DPRs, correspondence, and other project documents.
16. Testing, Inspection & Handover
Coordinate required inspections, punch-point closure, rectification activities, finishing work, and final project documentation to support smooth completion and handover.
17. Schedule & Cost Awareness
Execute work efficiently while controlling avoidable material wastage, equipment idle time, rework, manpower losses, and execution delays.
18. Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve site productivity, erection methodology, resource utilization, safety, quality, coordination, and overall project execution efficiency.

PEB / structural steel project execution
Structural steel erection and site supervision
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Knowledge of GA, erection, fabrication and Anchor Bolt drawings
Understanding of PEB structural components and erection sequence

Candidate Requirements
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline
Relevant professional experience in PEB, structural steel, industrial construction, or steel erection projects
Hands-on experience in site execution and structural steel erection is strongly preferred
Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, erection methodology, and site procedures
Experience coordinating with contractors, erection teams, clients, consultants, and internal departments
Working knowledge of quality and safety requirements at construction sites
Ability to prepare DPRs and maintain project documentation
Willingness to travel and work at project sites across India, depending on project requirements
Preferred Candidate Profile
We are looking for a proactive, technically competent, disciplined, and result-oriented engineer who can take ownership of assigned site activities and ensure effective execution from mobilization through completion.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment, coordinating multiple stakeholders, resolving execution challenges, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and project timelines.
Experience with a PEB manufacturer, structural steel fabrication company, EPC organization, industrial construction company, or steel erection contractor will be an advantage.
