Role Description The Knitwear Designer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Thane. The designer is responsible to develop and create commercially viable yet fashionable product range in lines with the season-wise theme & brand identity. This would involve various stages ranging from suggesting a theme as per the fashion forecast, sketching out a new design, translating it into a software version, deciding which type of fabric to use, sampling and displaying the piece at the tradeshow for booking and seeking the end consumer feedback on it.
Qualifications
Key responsibilities attached to the role:
1. Research the trends with the help of forecasting tools like WGSN/ VIEW Magazine
2. Creating mood board for the season and sub stories board for the season and sub stories
3. Checking past trends for consumer feedback – sell through Line Creation for the categories that one manages
4. Responsible for Fabric, mills & count construction.
5. Line mapping & line balancing.
6. Style detailing and template design
7. Competition Mapping
8. Creating New Designs based on season, illustrations, market research and international trends
9.Sample creation for tradeshow display
10.Sample display and highlights of the collection and merchandise for bookings.
