Java Engineering Lead - Vice President
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of developers in designing, developing and deploying scalable, secure and maintainable applications.
Architect and implement robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA and Spring Cloud.
Drive containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
Apply modern DevOps principles with Maven, Gradle, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native tools.
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts and QA teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
Participate in and facilitate Agile ceremonies (Scrum or Kanban) including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, refinement and backlog grooming.
Review code, mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and lead root cause analysis to identify and resolve performance or stability issues.
Ensure high standards of software quality within team by establishing good practices and habits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
10+ years of professional software development experience.
Proven expertise in Java (8/11/17), Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA and Spring Cloud.
Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for microservices deployment.
Strong knowledge of build tools: Maven, Gradle
Experience working in Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence.
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and design patterns.
Experience with source control (e.g. Git), CI/CD with LightSpeed Enterprises
Strong leadership and team management experience
Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Good to have
Experience with cloud-native platforms (Enterprise Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP)
Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, KLK stack).
Knowledge of testing tools like Junit, Quantum, Mockito, Karma, Jasmine.
Strong experience in front-end development using Angular (10+)
Build responsive, user-centric front-end components using Angular.
Multiple years of experience with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer review, etc.)
Clear understanding of building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low latency applications
Multiple years of experience with agile and iterative software delivery
Exposure to Cloud infrastructure both on-premises and public cloud (i.e., OpenShift, AWS, etc.)
Exposure to Cloud-native development and Container Orchestration tools (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
Multiple years of experience CI/CD pipelines and using front-end test strategies and frameworks (Cypress, jasmine, karma, selenium etc.)
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent work experience
Exposure to event-driven design and architecture (Kafka, Spark Flink, etc.)
Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, either on-premise or public cloud (i.e., Tekton, Harness, CircleCI, Cloudbees Jenkins, etc.)
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.)
Exposure to Security, Observability, and Monitoring tools (Grafana Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.)
Exposure to database concepts (RDBMS, NoSQL)
