Job Description:
As a 3D Jewelry Designer at Dozti, you will be responsible for transforming jewelry concepts, sketches, reference images, and creative direction into precise, production-ready 3D models.
You will work closely with leadership, designers, jewelers, and manufacturing partners to develop rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, earrings, and other fine jewelry pieces from initial concept through manufacturing-ready CAD.
This role requires both strong creative judgment and a technical understanding of how jewelry is manufactured. A design must not only look exceptional in a rendering, but also account for stone setting, metal thickness, tolerances, structural integrity, comfort, polishing, casting, assembly, and production feasibility.
You will be expected to interpret creative direction, propose practical design solutions, produce detailed 3D models, make revisions efficiently, and prepare accurate files for prototyping and manufacturing.
This is not a general 3D modeling or graphic design role. It is a specialized jewelry design position focused on fine jewelry, precision CAD modeling, manufacturability, and high-quality visual execution.
Responsibilities:
• Create detailed 3D CAD models for rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, earrings, and other jewelry pieces.
• Translate sketches, photographs, reference pieces, and verbal concepts into accurate 3D designs.
• Develop original jewelry concepts based on creative and product direction.
• Design settings for diamonds, gemstones, and other decorative elements.
• Account for stone dimensions, setting requirements, metal thickness, tolerances, and structural integrity.
• Ensure designs are practical for casting, stone setting, polishing, assembly, and final production.
• Prepare production-ready CAD files for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Create high-quality 3D renderings for internal review, product development, and presentation purposes.
• Make design revisions based on feedback from leadership, jewelers, and manufacturing partners.
• Identify potential manufacturing issues before designs are sent to production.
• Maintain accurate dimensions, proportions, symmetry, and consistency throughout the design process.
• Organize and maintain CAD files, specifications, revisions, and final production assets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to resolve technical issues and refine designs for production.
Requirements:
• 3 or more years of professional experience in jewelry CAD design or 3D jewelry modeling.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating professional fine jewelry design and production-ready CAD work.
• Advanced proficiency in Rhino, MatrixGold, or comparable professional jewelry CAD software.
• Strong understanding of jewelry construction and manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing for diamonds and gemstones, including common stone-setting methods.
• Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, minimum metal thicknesses, and structural considerations.
• Ability to create technically accurate models suitable for casting and manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of proportion, symmetry, form, and fine jewelry aesthetics.
• Ability to translate rough concepts and verbal creative direction into polished designs.
• High attention to detail and ability to execute precise revisions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, jewelers, and manufacturing teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with luxury or high jewelry.
• Experience with RhinoGold, Matrix, ZBrush, KeyShot, Blender, or additional 3D design and rendering software.
• Experience designing custom diamond and gemstone pieces.
• Understanding of pavé, micro-pavé, bezel, prong, channel, and other stone-setting techniques.
• Experience preparing models for 3D printing, wax production, and lost-wax casting.
• Knowledge of precious metals including gold, platinum, and silver.
• Experience creating photorealistic jewelry renderings.
• Traditional jewelry sketching or hand-rendering ability.
