Job Description:
As a Leadership Narrative Writer at Dozti, you will be responsible for transforming leadership principles, management lessons, business concepts, and practical insights into memorable stories that make those ideas easier to understand, remember, and apply. You may begin with a relatively simple lesson such as accountability, delegation, trust, discipline, communication, organizational culture, decision-making, or developing people. Your responsibility will be to determine how that lesson can be communicated through a compelling narrative rather than simply explained as an abstract principle.
Depending on the project, this may involve developing original fictional stories and business parables, transforming real experiences into polished narratives, researching historical or business examples, or building short illustrative stories around a specific leadership lesson. You will work closely with leadership, authors, researchers, and editors to understand the underlying lesson before developing the narrative around it. The story must serve the idea. It should be engaging enough to stand on its own while naturally leading the reader toward the intended insight. This role requires advanced writing ability, strong business and leadership literacy, and an instinct for storytelling. You must be able to create characters, situations, conflict, dialogue, tension, and resolution while maintaining the clarity and credibility expected of serious business writing.
This is not a generic business content writing role. It is a specialized narrative writing position focused on teaching leadership and management principles through stories.
Responsibilities:
• Transform leadership and management principles into engaging stories, parables, anecdotes, and narrative examples.
• Develop original story concepts around specific leadership lessons provided by authors or leadership.
• Turn abstract ideas into relatable situations involving people, organizations, decisions, conflict, and consequences.
• Write realistic and engaging dialogue that reveals character, tension, and leadership dynamics.
• Create fictional business scenarios and parables when appropriate to illustrate particular principles.
• Transform real experiences, interviews, and leadership anecdotes into polished narrative stories while preserving the underlying facts and meaning.
• Research historical, business, military, organizational, or biographical examples that can illustrate leadership principles.
• Develop characters, settings, conflicts, turning points, and resolutions that support the intended lesson.
• Determine where a leadership lesson should be explicitly explained and where the story should allow the reader to reach the insight naturally.
• Maintain strong pacing and reader engagement throughout narrative sections.
• Connect stories to broader chapters, arguments, and leadership frameworks within a book.
• Collaborate with authors to understand their personal philosophy, experiences, and intended lessons.
• Work with researchers to verify factual stories and supporting examples.
• Work with developmental editors to improve narrative structure, pacing, clarity, and emotional impact.
• Rewrite and refine stories based on author and editorial feedback.
• Maintain consistency in voice, tone, characters, and storytelling style throughout a manuscript.
Requirements:
• 3 or more years of professional experience in narrative writing, business writing, fiction, ghostwriting, journalism, or a related field.
• Advanced English writing ability with a strong command of narrative prose.
• Demonstrated ability to tell engaging stories rather than simply explain information.
• Strong understanding of story structure, character, conflict, dialogue, pacing, and resolution.
• Ability to take an abstract principle and develop a compelling narrative around it.
• Strong understanding of leadership, management, business, organizations, and human behavior.
• Ability to write believable workplace and organizational situations.
• Strong dialogue-writing ability.
• Ability to make educational material engaging without making it feel artificial or overly instructional.
• Strong research ability and intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to understand an author's intended lesson and preserve that meaning throughout the story.
• Ability to receive detailed editorial feedback and substantially rewrite material when required.
• Strong reading background across business, leadership, fiction, biography, and narrative non-fiction.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience writing leadership or management books.
• Experience writing business parables or narrative-driven business books.
• Experience ghostwriting for founders, executives, consultants, or business leaders.
• Experience conducting interviews and transforming spoken experiences into polished stories.
• Background in organizational psychology, management, entrepreneurship, or business.
• Experience researching historical and biographical stories for use in narrative writing.
• Ability to move comfortably between fictional storytelling and fact-based narrative non-fiction.
• Familiarity with leadership literature and the use of storytelling as a teaching tool.
