Head – Investment Back Office

We are hiring for an Emerging General Insurance Firm.
Position: Head – Investment Back Office
Reporting To: CFO
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 8–15 years
Role Overview:
Lead Investment Back Office operations for an insurance organisation, ensuring smooth investment settlements, accounting, reconciliations, controls, regulatory compliance and cash management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead investment operations and settlement across G-Secs, corporate bonds, money market instruments, mutual funds, equities and alternative investments.
Drive selection and implementation of investment accounting and portfolio management systems.
Strengthen operational controls, maker-checker processes, automation and process improvements.
Oversee investment accounting, including accruals, amortisation, income and realised gains/losses.
Ensure timely reconciliation of investment records with custodian, bank and GL statements.
Manage quarterly and annual investment-related financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with applicable investment regulations and support audits/regulatory inspections.
Monitor investment cash balances and coordinate liquidity requirements with Finance and Front Office teams.
Manage custodians and external service providers and ensure business continuity/DR processes.
Candidate Profile:
8–15 years of experience in Insurance Investment Back/Mid Office.
Strong understanding of fixed-income markets and insurance investments.
Good knowledge of investment accounting and portfolio management systems.
Strong understanding of insurance investment regulations and controls.
Strong reconciliation and operational control mindset.
Experience managing custodians and external service providers.
