Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview A Quantity Surveyor plays a pivotal role in the construction industry, requiring a blend of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail. This professional is responsible for calculating the costs associated with various civil engineering projects, commercial buildings, and residential developments. Their primary goal is to ensure that projects are economically feasible while meeting the highest standards of quality and safety. In this role, Quantity Surveyor work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to prepare detailed cost estimates that guide the planning and execution of construction projects.
Key responsibilities include reviewing project plans, analyzing requirements, and using advanced software tools to create accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Responsibilities & Duties
 Reviewing and interpreting GFC drawings and specifications.
 Preparing detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
 Making site visits to gather data and assess project material availability.
 Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers.
 Analyzing project requirements to identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
 Maintaining and updating a database of cost information for various construction materials and labor rates.
 Ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
 Monitoring project costs and adjusting estimates as necessary.
 Providing cost advice throughout the project lifecycle Civil Estimator
Qualifications & Skills
 Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
 Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
 Proven track record of successful project cost estimation.
 Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
 Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
 Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
 Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating.
 Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
 Strong mathematical and analytical skills
 Attention to detail and accuracy.
 Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.
 Excellent organizational and time management skills  Effective communication and interpersonal skills  Knowledge of construction industry practices and standards  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
