Vice President, Hardware Engineering

Neocambrian AI is building the data infrastructure for physical AI. We design and operate head-mounted egocentric systems, UMI grippers, DexUMI systems, and other sensor-rich hardware used to collect real-world data for leading robotics companies and frontier AI labs.
We are hiring a VP, Hardware to own our complete hardware stack across mechanical engineering, electronics, embedded systems, firmware, manufacturing, calibration, and field reliability.
This is a hands-on executive role. You will set the hardware roadmap, build and lead the team, and remain close enough to the work to review designs, make architecture decisions, debug failures, and spend time with the devices in production.
You will be responsible for:
Turning working prototypes into repeatable, version-controlled products.
Owning system architecture across our complete capture family.
Improving fleet uptime, serviceability, and repair time.
Protecting data quality through robust sensing, synchronization, calibration, and device-health systems.
Owning unit cost, bill of materials, build time, suppliers, testing, and production readiness.
Recruiting and leading a multidisciplinary hardware organisation.
Working closely with operations, data engineering, and research.
The right person has shipped multidisciplinary hardware into the real world, taken products from prototype to repeatable production, and personally dealt with the failures that only appear after deployment.
You should be deeply technical in at least one hardware discipline and capable of holding the trade-offs across mechanical, electronics, embedded systems, manufacturing, and operator experience.
Experience in robotics, teleoperation, motion capture, wearables, sensor systems, or low-volume manufacturing is helpful but not mandatory.
