About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative Product Development Executive to join our product development team. The role involves taking fashion concepts from initial design and sampling through product finalization, while coordinating closely with designers, merchandisers, sampling, sourcing, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in developing new fashion products and collections from concept to final sample.
2. Coordinate the complete sample development process with designers, pattern makers, tailors, and production teams.
3. Study design concepts, sketches, references, and specifications and translate them into workable products.
4. Assist with fabric, trims, prints, colours, and embellishment selection.
5. Prepare and maintain product development sheets, tech packs, specifications, and sample records.
6. Coordinate with tailors, and internal teams to ensure samples are developed according to requirements.
7. Review samples for fit, measurements, construction, finishing, fabric, colour, and overall appearance.
8. Identify issues during sampling and coordinate necessary corrections and modifications.
9. Track sample status, development timelines, approvals, and revisions.
10. Maintain accurate records of approved samples, fabrics, trims, and product specifications.
11. Work closely with the design and merchandising teams to ensure products meet both design and commercial requirements.
12. Assist in developing products based on market trends, buyer requirements, and seasonal collection directions.
13. Ensure timely completion of product development activities and follow up on pending tasks.
What We're Looking For:
1. Strong understanding of fashion design, textiles, garment construction, and apparel development.
2. Good knowledge of sampling and product development processes.
3. Understanding of garment measurements, fit, construction, and finishing.
4. Good knowledge of fabrics, prints, trims, and garment details.
5. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
6. Excellent coordination and follow-up skills.
7. Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams.
8. Ability to understand fashion sketches, technical specifications, and product references.
9. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop will be an advantage.
10. Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
