Integration Solution Architect

Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their Integration Solution Architect _ on a Contract role in Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
The Integration Solution Architect will define and govern integration solutions across APIs, microservices, message queues, event-driven services, batch interfaces, and secure file-transfer mechanisms.
The role will coordinate integration architecture across customer channels, operational platforms, core banking systems, Murex MX.3, Coconet multi: versa, and enterprise data services.
The ideal candidate will have led integration architecture for a major banking transformation involving APIs, messaging, event-driven processing, batch flows, file transfers, cloud platforms, and multiple legacy interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end integration architecture for assigned transformation initiatives.
Define integration patterns for:
Synchronous APIs
Asynchronous APIs
Message queues
Event-driven services
Event streaming
Batch interfaces
Secure file transfer
Legacy system interfaces
Design and sequence integration flows spanning multiple systems, programmes, and delivery teams.
Define API contracts, interface specifications, event schemas, and service interactions.
Establish approaches for:
Routing
Transformation
Orchestration
Validation
Reconciliation
Exception management
Define message-handling requirements covering:
Idempotency
Ordering
Duplicate detection
Timeouts
Retries
Dead-letter processing
Replay and recovery
Design secure integration between on-premises platforms, cloud environments, third-party systems, and vendor products.
Define authentication, authorization, encryption, certificate, and secrets-management requirements for interfaces.
Establish integration observability covering traceability, correlation identifiers, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Work with integration factories and engineering squads to ensure consistent implementation of approved patterns.
Produce interface inventories, integration diagrams, sequence diagrams, and system-interaction models.
Define integration transition states where legacy and target platforms must coexist.
Identify integration dependencies, delivery sequencing requirements, and interface-related risks.
Coordinate integration design involving Murex MX.3, Coconet multi:versa, core systems, and enterprise services.
Present integration designs to architecture governance forums.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
Strong integration and solution architecture experience.
Demonstrable experience across:
APIs
Microservices
Message queues
Event-driven architecture
Batch integration
Secure file transfer
Strong understanding of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
Experience designing integrations between modern cloud services and legacy systems.
Experience with API management, API security, versioning, throttling, and lifecycle governance.
Strong understanding of message integrity, idempotency, ordering, retries, and error handling.
Experience defining canonical data models, transformations, orchestration, and service decoupling.
Knowledge of identity, certificates, transport security, encryption, and secure connectivity.
Ability to produce detailed integration architecture and interface artefacts.
Experience coordinating integration dependencies across multiple delivery teams.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience with Kafka or equivalent event-streaming technologies.
Experience with enterprise MQ technologies.
Experience with managed file-transfer platforms.
Banking, payments, treasury, FX, or capital-markets integration experience.
Experience integrating digital corporate-banking channels with treasury or FX platforms.
Exposure to Murex MX.3 integration frameworks.
Exposure to Coconet multi:versa, including multi:hub or multi:integration.
Knowledge of payment formats, SWIFT, EBICS, or host-to-host banking.
