Team/Role Overview
The Invoice Processing Manager for the EMEA Region operates within the broader Procure to Pay (P2P) function, collaborating closely with the other related teams. This role carries full leadership and supervisory responsibility, overseeing a team of experts dedicated to processing invoices for EMEA countries. This position provides operational leadership to the Invoice Processing team based in Budapest, balancing both professional tasks and people leadership. The manager is responsible for driving root cause management for complex issues and serving as a key liaison across relevant internal and external teams, working with Process Owners to optimize processes. Strong communication, diplomacy, analytical thinking, a control mindset, and organizational skills are paramount. The role is directly accountable for the quality and timeliness of end results, and this position significantly impacts the overall performance and effectiveness of the P2P sub-function. Full supervisory responsibility includes ensuring the motivation and development of the team through professional leadership and directing daily tasks and responsibilities.
What you’ll do
Supervise the daily workflow of payment processing and related issues, acting as a liaison to external and internal units to resolve issues and mitigate risk.
Routinely handle complex issues that are substantial in departmental impact.
Manage the intake of remediation activity to resolve issues prior to transformation.
Evaluate subordinates' performance and make recommendations for year-end rating distribution, promotions, and terminations.
Determine hiring needs to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Operate with a limited level of direct supervision and exercise independent judgment and autonomy.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and other team members.
Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activities of others and creating accountability for maintaining these standards.
What we’ll need from you
A minimum of 8 years of work experience, with preferred experience in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and payments.
Familiarity with Accounting practices.
Demonstrated strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, a robust control mindset, and excellent organizational skills.
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with strong English proficiency.
Comfortable dealing with stakeholders at various levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Proven influencing and relationship management skills.
Proactive leadership and motivational skills.
Bachelor's degree.
