About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Placement Lead to own student placement outcomes across our programmes and campuses. The role involves building strong corporate relationships, generating internship and employment opportunities, managing placement drives, and enhancing student employability.
This is a hands-on, employer-facing role with responsibility for placement targets, student readiness, and accurate placement reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate Relations & Employer Network
Build and manage relationships with companies across automation, manufacturing, technology, analytics, facilities, and infrastructure sectors.
Develop new hiring partnerships and convert employer relationships into internship and placement opportunities.
Represent Mentric at industry events, job fairs, and corporate forums.
Maintain an updated employer database with hiring history, roles, and compensation details.
2. Placement Management
Plan and execute the complete placement cycle across programmes and campuses.
Coordinate employer requirements, student shortlisting, placement drives, interviews, and offer follow-up.
Drive placement conversion and ensure successful offer acceptance and joining.
Monitor placement performance against agreed targets.
3. Internships & Industry Projects
Develop internship opportunities for students across relevant industries.
Establish industry connections for live projects, capstone projects, and practical learning.
Track internship-to-placement conversion.
4. Student Employability & Readiness
Plan and conduct aptitude training, resume-building sessions, group discussions, mock interviews, and interview preparation.
Collaborate with faculty to prepare students for technical and HR interviews.
Identify students requiring additional support and implement targeted readiness initiatives.
Engage alumni to strengthen referrals and employer connections.
5. Reporting & Compliance
Maintain accurate and auditable placement records, including offer letters and joining details.
Prepare placement reports for management, partner institutions, and accreditation requirements.
Track placement conversion, median package, highest package, and internship outcomes.
Ensure all reported placement figures are supported by verifiable records.
6. Institutional & Commercial Contribution
Collaborate with academic teams to align curriculum and student skills with industry requirements.
Support corporate training and workforce programme opportunities through employer relationships.
Contribute to the development of GCC and international placement opportunities.
Eligibility & Experience
Mandatory Requirements
Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university.
6–12 years of relevant experience in placements, corporate relations, EdTech, technical skilling, staffing, recruitment, or corporate campus hiring.
Minimum 4 years of direct placement-facing or employer-facing experience.
Proven experience managing at least two complete placement cycles.
Demonstrated employer network and ability to develop new hiring partnerships.
Experience managing student employability and interview preparation activities.
Strong placement reporting, data management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
MBA or PGDM in HR, Marketing, Operations, or a related specialisation.
Engineering or technology background.
Experience with core technical, manufacturing, automation, or facilities-sector placements.
Exposure to OEM and industrial recruiters.
Experience with GCC or international placements.
Familiarity with NBA and NAAC placement documentation.
