Telecommunications Engineer

Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Telecommunications Engineer. The Telecommunications Engineer will design, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems that support Solar Tech Energy Solutions’ operations and customer projects. Daily tasks include analyzing network requirements, assisting with system integration for solar monitoring and control solutions, and ensuring reliable communication between devices and platforms. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, providing remote technical support, and optimizing network performance for voice and data services. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to document configurations, improve system reliability, and contribute to scalable, secure communications infrastructure.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Telecommunications Systems and Network Design to plan, implement, and optimize communication infrastructures.
Candidates should possess experience with Voice over IP (VoIP) and related telephony solutions to support reliable voice services.
Candidates should possess robust Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose issues, provide remote assistance, and implement effective resolutions.
Candidates should possess knowledge of IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs) and familiarity with network security best practices.
Relevant qualifications include a degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional beneficial skills include experience with communication systems used in renewable energy or IoT, strong documentation practices, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
