Accounting Advisory Manager

Accounting Advisory Manager | San Francisco (Remote) | Full-Time
Henderson Drake is working with a growing accounting advisory practice to find a manager for their expanding US team.
The client base tells you a lot about the nature of the work — high-growth private businesses, PE-backed organisations, and public companies navigating technically demanding accounting and reporting situations. You will own your engagements, work through complex problems directly alongside CFOs and Controllers, and be expected to bring both technical depth and clear judgement to every client relationship.
What you will be doing:
Lead accounting advisory engagements across technical accounting and financial reporting matters
Guide clients through acquisitions, carve-outs, IPO readiness, and restructuring activity
Provide practical guidance on US GAAP, SEC reporting, and complex accounting areas
Prepare and review technical accounting memos and client deliverables
Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders
What we are looking for:
5+ years in public accounting, accounting advisory, or transaction services
CPA qualification required
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
A track record working directly with senior finance stakeholders in a client-facing environment
Comfortable managing multiple engagements running at the same time
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
