Packaging Program Engineer

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in engineering or equivalent industry experience
5+ years of hands-on program management experience
Demonstrated proficiency in consumer electronics design cycles
Experience working with contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS in mechanical, packaging, or structural engineering
Extensive knowledge of packaging manufacturing processes and print production
10+ years of hands on program management experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Program Engineer for RL packaging products including Quest, Portal, Wearables, Accessories and/or new devices
End-to-end coordination of packaging engineering, design, and validation from product discovery through launch
Lead collaboration with industrial design, engineering, creative, legal, product management, compliance and operations to realize packaging vision
Guide the team through ambiguous packaging definition, sourcing cross-functional inputs and influencing to find an optimized solution
Drive the execution of the schedule and manage day to day activities of the program
Present program updates to leadership, distilling key program information and highlighting risks and recommended mitigations
Implement process improvements and best practices for the organization
Collaborate closely with APAC suppliers for packaging builds
Possible domestic travel
Work closely with engineering to compile and manage the packaging BOM (bill of materials) for all program skus
Summary:
The RL Packaging Team is focused on delivering consumer product packaging for all RL products (Metaverse, Wearables, Accessories and new devices).
We focus on packaging that is sustainable, design-focused, and enhances the customer experience.
This role will focus on developing packaging for Meta's warranty replacement and refurbishment for sale program. This role will stretch across all programs making it well suited for this service.
The RL Packaging team seeks a Technical Program Engineer who has strong experience as a TPE in packaging development. As the packaging TPE, you will be responsible for collecting cross-functional inputs to support the team in designing, validating, and delivering product packaging at scale.
