Job Title: Trade Compliance Specialist (Pharma)
Pay Rate: $35/hour
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to support import/export operations and cross-border shipment compliance.
The role will be responsible for processing trade compliance clearances, preparing documentation, coordinating with customs brokers and business partners, and maintaining accurate customs records.
Key Responsibilities:
Process import/export trade compliance clearance for cross-border shipments using a Global Trade Management system / Oracle module.
Provide import clearance instructions to customs brokers by validating and preparing documentation required by U.S. Customs, FDA, and other government agencies.
Serve as a point of contact for shipment processing and respond to internal and external shipment inquiries.
Coordinate with business partners and stakeholders to support timely shipment processing.
Maintain repositories for import/export documentation in accordance with record-retention requirements.
Assist with developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for import/export operations.
Support customs compliance activities, including documentation review and data management.
Assist with auditing customs valuation increments such as freight, assists, and other applicable costs.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
1–3 years of experience in trade compliance or import/export operations.
Previous experience and understanding of Trade Compliance, including U.S. Customs Form 7501 or equivalent customs documentation.
Understanding of Customs requirements and regulations.
Experience with import/export operations.
Understanding of HTS classification principles.
Knowledge of customs documentation record-retention best practices, including electronic storage and organization.
Strong analytical, organizational, and data-management skills.
Ability to work during U.S. Eastern Time hours and participate in early calls to coordinate with European locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting import/export operations in both the U.S. and Europe, particularly the UK and Switzerland.
Experience with Excel databases and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Previous experience in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, food, medical devices, or similar.
Experience auditing customs valuation increments, including freight, assists, and related costs.

Work arrangement
No
