OVERVIEW
BrainWorks is currently seeking a Vice President, Product for a full-time opportunity with a high-growth healthcare organization.
This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial product leader to help build a next-generation digital platform from its earliest stages through launch, adoption, and scale. The VP, Product will own the product vision and roadmap for a suite of consumer and care-team experiences designed to transform how patients understand their health, engage with their care, and connect with the people supporting them.
The platform will bring together comprehensive patient information, intuitive consumer-facing experiences, AI-enabled engagement, care-team workflows, and intelligent orchestration of the next best action.
This is not a traditional technical product-owner role. The VP, Product will operate as a business and product leader—connecting customer needs, organizational objectives, technology capabilities, and measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate has built meaningful products from zero-to-one, knows how to create consumer experiences people actually adopt, and is comfortable moving between executive-level strategy and hands-on product execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own product vision, strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and execution from concept through launch, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
Lead the development of consumer-facing digital experiences that make complex information intuitive, useful, and highly engaging.
Drive products spanning integrated data, consumer applications, AI/LLM-enabled experiences, care-team workflows, and real-time orchestration.
Translate customer needs and business objectives into product priorities, requirements, experiments, and measurable results.
Treat Product as a business driver, connecting product decisions to engagement, retention, operational performance, and broader organizational value.
Partner closely with technology and engineering leadership to sequence development, prioritize the roadmap, and establish an effective product/engineering operating cadence.
Develop products iteratively through customer discovery, testing, feedback, pilots, and data rather than relying solely on predetermined requirements.
Lead build-versus-buy decisions and manage relationships with technology, data, AI, and development partners.
Establish scalable product practices across discovery, prioritization, requirements, release management, testing, and adoption.
Build and develop the product organization, initially operating as a hands-on player-coach while recruiting and developing product talent.
Partner across operations, clinical teams, legal, compliance, finance, marketing, and other functions to move products from idea through enterprise adoption.
Build for both speed and scale—remaining hands-on in an entrepreneurial environment while creating products and processes capable of supporting significant future growth.
Define and own the metrics used to evaluate product engagement, adoption, operational impact, and business outcomes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of progressive product management experience, including senior product leadership.
Significant zero-to-one product experience, with demonstrated ownership from initial concept and customer discovery through build, launch, adoption, and scale.
Strong track record building consumer-facing digital products or platforms where engagement and customer experience were critical to success.
Demonstrated ability to think about Product as a business function and connect product decisions to measurable organizational or P&L outcomes.
Experience partnering closely with engineering and technology teams throughout the complete product lifecycle.
Working fluency with AI- and LLM-enabled products, including practical understanding of responsible deployment in customer-facing environments.
Strong product intuition combined with a highly analytical, test-and-learn approach to decision-making.
Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing product teams.
Ability to lead through influence across executive, technical, operational, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
Comfortable operating as a player-coach in an environment where leaders are expected to roll up their sleeves and personally drive work forward.
Proven ability to create solutions that can move quickly today while scaling effectively as the organization grows.
Bachelor's degree required.
NICE-TO-HAVE
Healthcare, digital health, health tech, value-based care, patient engagement, or provider experience.
Experience building products used by patients, clinicians, care teams, or other high-trust customer populations.
Familiarity with EHR/EMR, claims, labs, health information exchange, or other complex healthcare data.
Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, privacy, and healthcare data governance.
Experience operating in a high-growth, private equity-backed, founder-led, or entrepreneurial organization.
Experience overseeing external development, technology, data, or AI partners.
Advanced degree such as an MBA, MHA, MS, or related degree.
