Company Description
MiRA Clinical builds ambient, voice-first AI that turns bedside nursing care into structured clinical documentation in real time. Designed with practicing nurses and validated through active simulation pilots, MiRA cuts documentation time and integrates directly into existing nursing workflows. Built HIPAA-first, with a proprietary nursing voice dataset and transparent AI at its core. We're moving from pilot to live deployment, starting with one unit and scaling from there.
Role Description
We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern (Fall 2026) to work directly with our VP of Engineering on core product infrastructure. Remote. You'll build and ship backend features, work on APIs and data pipelines powering real-time nursing workflows, and help troubleshoot issues surfaced from live simulation pilots. This is a small team, so your work ships fast and matters immediately.
Unpaid co-op, with potential to extend into Spring 2027 based on performance. Must be graduating May 2027.
Qualifications
Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design)
Proficient in at least one language: Python, Java, TypeScript, or Go
Experience with REST APIs, databases, and cloud basics
Currently pursuing a degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field
Comfortable owning problems end-to-end in a fast-moving startup
Bonus: interest in healthcare tech or HIPAA-regulated systems
