Role Description
We’re looking for a Backend Engineer (3-5 years experience) to join our early-stage startup in Bangalore. You’ll work directly with the founding team to design, develop, and scale our core platform — blending technology, curiosity, and customer understanding.
This isn’t a typical corporate role — it’s for someone who loves building things from scratch, thrives in ambiguity, and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty to understand how our customers actually work. You’ll be a thinker who asks why before what and how, and who takes ownership from concept to deployment.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain backend APIs and micro services for core business workflows.
Design and manage databases and data models for real-world use cases.
Able to build scalable systems
Handle asynchronous flows using queues/events where required.
Ensure data correctness, consistency, and reliability.
Integrate with external systems (vendors, payments, IoT, third-party APIs).
Debug production issues and improve system stability.
Write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams to ship features.
Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in backend development.
Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, and backend architecture.
Experience with at least one backend language/framework (Java / Spring Boot, Node.js, or similar).
Good understanding of SQL and basic data modeling.
Familiarity with message queues or background jobs is a plus.
Ability to debug issues and work independently.
Comfortable working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
