Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer (portugal-based)

Hexa Consulting is looking for a Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Client's team in a hybrid work model from Lisbon.

Mandatory Requirements
3+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Cost Management or Cloud Governance.
Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud cost management.
Technical background and experience working closely with infrastructure, architecture and cloud platform teams.
Strong understanding of cloud budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation and optimization practices.
Experience with showback and chargeback models, tagging governance and cloud cost allocation.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex cost and usage data into actionable insights.
Experience with data analysis and reporting using tools such as Power BI, Advanced Excel and SQL.
Ability to work autonomously in multidisciplinary environments.
Strong communication skills when working with technical, operational and executive stakeholders.
Proactivity, critical thinking and a continuous improvement mindset.
Nice to Have
FinOps Practitioner certification.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
Knowledge of Terraform and GitHub.
Experience with automation and observability practices.
Python knowledge.
Exposure to AI applied to FinOps.
Knowledge of the FOCUS Framework.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor, analyze and report cloud consumption, cost trends and financial forecasts across cloud services.
Define and continuously improve cloud cost governance controls, budget support processes and operational reporting models.
Identify cloud cost optimization opportunities through rightsizing, consumption analysis, commitment models and architecture reviews.
Support showback and chargeback models by improving cost allocation, tagging quality and metadata governance.
Contribute to the evolution of FinOps platforms through data integration, automation and anomaly detection.
Integrate FinOps practices into infrastructure as code, cloud onboarding and governance processes.
Work closely with infrastructure, architecture, cloud platform, data and application teams to strengthen FinOps adoption.
Support financial estimates, architecture forums and continuous improvement initiatives.
Improve operational visibility and provide actionable insights to support technical and financial decision-making.
