Research and Engineering Scientist

The Research and Engineering Scientist / Research Scientist roles at Zoho Corporation are responsible for high quality research in the fields of Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics & Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Robotics and Automation Engineering. Research areas include Compilers, Computer Architecture, Programming Languages, Data Structures & Algorithms, Operating Systems, Computer Networking, Data Security, Cryptography & Network Security, Image processing, Malware Analysis, Cloud computing, Software Engineering, Web Technology, Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning, Deep learning, Generative AI, etc), Machine vision Technology & Intelligence, Design of Mechatronics System, Industrial Automation & Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Robotics and other emerging technologies.
Excellent self-organization and attention to detail is necessary to balance multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks as needed.
The duties and responsibilities in this role include the following:
Research Requirements
* Demonstrating strong technical curiosity, innovative thinking, and the ability to independently investigate and understand emerging technologies and inventions.
* Performing independent technical research, technology analysis, and continuous learning as required to evaluate and develop a thorough understanding of inventions.
* Working closely with engineering, and product development teams to understand technical innovations, identify their key contributions, and effectively capture the company's intellectual property.
System Design Development
*Drafting technical documents on system design and technology for patenting purposes.
* Maintaining accurate and detailed records of system design, technology, and novel aspects.
* Reviewing technical documents and providing insightful technical analysis.
* Generating technical documents, review reports and presentations for internal and external communication.
* Drafting engineering specification for patenting innovations and publishing in conferences/journals.
Project Execution
* Working on projects across multiple stages: concept ideation, novelty identification, and system design.
* Completing assigned tasks & projects accurately and on time.
Other Functions and Skills
* Performing miscellaneous tasks to support team functioning.
* Good language and communication skills for documentation and presentation.
* Continuously improving skills and updating knowledge to meet responsibilities.
Candidates will be hired in a Research and Engineering Scientist Role or Research Scientist Role based on prior experience and skill level.
