About Us
We are a globally focused organization committed to developing safe, reliable, and technologically advanced aerospace and aviation systems across diverse markets. Our teams bring together systems engineering, avionics, flight controls, software, hardware, safety, certification, manufacturing, maintenance, and operations expertise to deliver integrated aircraft solutions.
We collaborate across engineering disciplines, suppliers, regulators, OEMs, MRO organizations, and operational teams to ensure flight systems meet demanding requirements for performance, safety, reliability, certification, and lifecycle support.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Flight Systems Engineering Manager to lead the systems engineering strategy, architecture, integration, verification, validation, certification support, and lifecycle management of aircraft flight systems.
The ideal candidate will provide technical and organizational leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring flight systems are properly defined, integrated, tested, certified, and optimized throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement flight systems engineering strategies, processes, standards, and technical roadmaps.
Lead multidisciplinary systems engineering activities across aircraft and flight-system programs.
Define system architectures, functional boundaries, interfaces, requirements, and performance objectives.
Translate aircraft-level requirements into clear system and subsystem requirements.
Establish and maintain system requirements specifications, interface requirements, and technical baselines.
Coordinate systems engineering activities across avionics, flight controls, electrical, software, hardware, propulsion, structures, safety, and other engineering disciplines.
Lead functional decomposition, allocation, traceability, and requirements management activities.
Develop system architecture models, functional analyses, operational concepts, and interface definitions.
Manage aircraft-level and system-level interfaces and identify potential integration conflicts.
Coordinate Interface Control Documents, Interface Control Drawings, and system interface agreements.
Lead system design reviews including requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, critical design reviews, and readiness reviews.
Establish verification and validation strategies aligned with system requirements and certification objectives.
Develop verification cross-reference matrices and ensure complete requirements coverage.
Coordinate analysis, inspection, demonstration, simulation, laboratory testing, ground testing, and flight testing.
Review verification procedures, test plans, test results, and technical evidence.
Identify and resolve system-level technical issues, integration problems, and requirement conflicts.
Lead root-cause analysis for system failures, unexpected behavior, and performance deficiencies.
Coordinate system-level troubleshooting across engineering and operational teams.
Support aircraft-level safety assessments and system safety activities.
Apply functional hazard assessments, preliminary system safety assessments, fault-tree analysis, failure-mode analysis, and related techniques where applicable.
Ensure system designs address failure conditions, redundancy, independence, fault detection, fault isolation, and safe-state requirements.
Coordinate reliability, maintainability, availability, and lifecycle performance assessments.
Support development of system-level failure detection, annunciation, monitoring, and fault-management strategies.
Work closely with flight controls, avionics, electrical, software, and hardware teams to ensure effective system integration.
Coordinate development and integration of communication, navigation, surveillance, flight management, cockpit, display, and aircraft information systems.
Support integration of autopilot, flight guidance, flight-control, navigation, and mission-management functions where applicable.
Ensure compatibility between flight systems, aircraft electrical power, data networks, sensors, actuators, displays, and other interfaces.
Coordinate system integration laboratories, hardware-in-the-loop environments, iron-bird facilities, simulators, and aircraft test platforms.
Establish system integration and test strategies covering component, subsystem, system, aircraft, and operational levels.
Support ground and flight-test planning, execution, anomaly resolution, and technical reporting.
Coordinate certification activities related to flight systems and provide technical evidence to support regulatory approval.
Work with certification, safety, quality, and compliance teams to ensure applicable aerospace standards and regulatory requirements are addressed.
Maintain configuration control of system architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification evidence, and technical baselines.
Evaluate engineering changes and assess their impact on system performance, safety, interfaces, certification, and configuration.
Lead technical reviews of proposed modifications, upgrades, retrofits, and new system capabilities.
Manage system-level technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, and mitigation plans.
Develop technical plans, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, and engineering deliverables.
Coordinate internal engineering teams, suppliers, technology partners, laboratories, consultants, and external specialists.
Review supplier technical proposals, system specifications, qualification plans, test results, and compliance evidence.
Support supplier selection, technical evaluations, design reviews, acceptance activities, and performance monitoring.
Establish engineering standards for documentation, modeling, requirements, verification, configuration, and technical reviews.
Promote model-based systems engineering, digital engineering, simulation, and automated verification approaches.
Evaluate emerging technologies including advanced avionics, autonomous systems, AI-enabled functions, connected aircraft systems, digital twins, and advanced flight-control technologies.
Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Ensure engineering teams maintain accurate technical records, requirements databases, test evidence, issue logs, and certification documentation.
Provide senior management with regular reports covering technical progress, system performance, risks, integration issues, verification status, and certification readiness.
