Business Data Scientist | Finance Analytics — Kin Analytics
As a Junior Business Scientist, you'll work alongside senior data scientists to turn financial data into decisions — learning the domain while contributing real, shippable work from day one.
We're a B Corp data analytics and AI consultancy serving clients across 30+ countries. Our team is 100% remote, distributed across Latin America, Europe, and North America.
What you'll do
Support the development of models and pipelines for financial and lending use cases, under guidance from senior team members
Clean, transform, and validate financial datasets — flagging quality issues before they become model issues
Build and maintain analysis notebooks, dashboards, and reporting views for internal and client stakeholders
Assist in feature engineering and model evaluation for underwriting and risk use cases
Participate in client calls and workshops as support, taking notes and helping translate technical findings into plain language
Contribute to internal documentation, playbooks, and QA processes
Ask questions, flag blockers early, and grow into more ownership over time
What we're looking for
0–2 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or a related field (internships and academic projects count)
Working proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL
Comfort working with real-world, messy data — you don't panic when a column doesn't match the schema
Basic familiarity with Git and version control
Curiosity about the finance/lending domain — no prior experience required, but genuine interest matters
Comfort with AI-native tools: Claude, agents, MCPs
Clear communication and eagerness to learn from feedback
Fluent written and spoken English (client-facing exposure, even if supportive)
Nice to have
Coursework or personal projects touching finance, risk, or credit modeling
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Experience in a consultancy or fast-paced, client-facing environment
