Company Description The Embassy of Peru in Kenya represents and promotes Peru’s diplomatic relations with the Government of Kenya and with international organizations based in Nairobi. Its mission includes protecting the interests of Peru and Peruvian nationals, while strengthening political, economic, and cultural ties between Peru and Kenya. The Embassy also serves as Peru’s representative to the United Nations Office at Nairobi, acting as a key liaison with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN-Habitat, which are central to Peru’s foreign policy objectives. Through its Consular Section in Nairobi, the Embassy provides essential consular services such as emergency assistance, issuance of visas and passports, and civil registry services to Peruvian citizens in Kenya and neighboring countries.
Role Description The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the Embassy’s overall operations and international representation. This part-time, remote role involves setting organizational priorities, guiding diplomatic initiatives, and coordinating with government counterparts, international organizations, and key stakeholders. The CEO will oversee financial stewardship, operational effectiveness, and business planning aligned with Peru’s foreign policy and institutional objectives. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing strategic plans, monitoring performance indicators, supporting high-level negotiations, advising on outreach and partnership opportunities, and ensuring that consular and administrative services operate efficiently and transparently.
Qualifications
Strong Finance and budgeting skills, with the ability to oversee responsible resource allocation and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Operations Management, including coordination of administrative functions and process optimization.
Experience in Business Planning and Strategic Planning to define long-term goals and implement effective organizational strategies.
Background in Sales, stakeholder engagement, or relationship management to promote institutional initiatives and partnerships.
Demonstrated leadership experience in diplomacy, international relations, public administration, or a related field.
Advanced communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish and additional languages is highly beneficial.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, multicultural environment and collaborate with diverse international stakeholders.
Relevant academic degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
