Rust Developer – Remote
Empiric are supporting a leading organisation on a long-term Senior Rust Developer requirement in Finland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced software engineer to join a long-term development project, working on complex, high-performance applications using Rust, C++ and Qt.
You’ll be working hands-on across the software development lifecycle, developing and maintaining robust applications using modern Rust alongside an established C++ and Qt codebase. You’ll collaborate closely with other senior engineers while contributing to application architecture, development, code reviews and continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Experience
Professional software development experience.
Hands-on Rust development experience.
Hands-on C++ development experience.
Qt development experience.
Experience developing user interfaces using QML.
Strong understanding of software architecture and object-oriented development.
Experience developing and maintaining complex production-grade applications.
Experience working with Gerrit for code review and source-code management.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting and performance-optimisation skills.
Experience working within collaborative, senior-level software engineering teams.
Nice to Haves
QtQuick experience.
Experience working on applications combining Rust and C++.
Experience with complex desktop, embedded or device-based applications.
Experience modernising or extending established C++ / Qt codebases.
Experience working in large-scale or long-term software development programmes.
Contract Details
Location: Espoo, Finland – Remote
Contract Setup: Freelance / B2B
Allocation: 5 days a week
Start Date: 1 October 2026 Target
Duration: 6–12 months initial, with long-term extension potential
