Job Title: SQL Developer with Pharmaceutical Commercial Domain Experience

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for high-performance reporting platforms within the commercial pharmaceutical domain.
Important Note for Applicants: This role requires deep familiarity with the pharmaceutical commercial sector. Screening questions will test your knowledge of pharma business processes and data sources.
🚨 Mandatory Technical Skills (Must-Have)
7+ Years of Experience writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries.
Core Database Technologies: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and Vertica (Vertica experience is a strong plus).
Pharma Commercial Domain Experience: Strong understanding of Sales Operations, Territory Alignment, Customer Master Data, Call Activity, Sample Accountability, and Sales Performance Reporting.
Industry Platforms & Data Sources: Hands-on experience with IQVIA, Symphony Health, Veeva CRM, and Veeva Align.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction and enterprise reporting.
Translate business requirements from stakeholders into efficient data models and optimized queries.
Troubleshoot and resolve end-to-end issues across the reporting stack (database, ETL/data integration, and front-end tools like Tableau).
Perform regular performance tuning and database optimization.
Analyze and reconcile data across multiple systems to identify and resolve data quality issues.
Support enterprise reporting and analytics platforms in a production environment, handling incident management and user support.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent relevant work experience).
Experience: Minimum 7+ years of professional IT experience with a heavy focus on SQL development.
Reporting & Visualization: At least 1+ years of hands-on experience with Tableau (dashboard development, data source management, and troubleshooting).
Data Concepts: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (Star schema, Snowflake schema, Data marts, and Data lakes).
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently in a remote setup.
