Note: This position requires Travel.
This position is for the Healthcare Diagnostics division.
Our client is seeking a technically capable Customer Service Engineer to support medical imaging equipment in a field-based, customer-facing environment. The initial assignment will focus on becoming proficient with the PACE service-management software platform and helping field service personnel adopt the system during implementation and post-launch support. Following the transition period, the position may provide an opportunity to move into a Customer Service Engineer assignment supporting diagnostic imaging systems in the local region. The ideal candidate combines hands-on equipment troubleshooting skills with strong customer-service abilities and is comfortable working independently at healthcare facilities. The candidate will need to travel as needed
Develop subject-matter expertise in the PACE service-management software platform used to manage field-service activities, service documentation, labor/time, and parts consumption.
Assist Customer Service Engineers with questions and practical issues related to PACE usage during the implementation period.
Support the organization during the post-launch hyper-care period, helping identify and resolve operational issues associated with the new service workflow.
Transition, when appropriate, into a field-based Customer Service Engineer assignment supporting medical imaging equipment.
Install and place diagnostic imaging equipment into service at healthcare customer locations.
Perform preventive maintenance and corrective service on assigned imaging systems.
Investigate equipment failures, isolate root causes, and complete required repairs or component replacements.
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and system-level equipment problems.
Perform equipment modifications and service activities in accordance with applicable technical procedures.
Document service work accurately, including equipment history, parts used, labor/time, and completed activities.
Provide responsive technical assistance to customers and explain equipment/service issues in a professional manner.
Develop effective working relationships with customer personnel and internal technical/service teams.
Manage service activities across an assigned metropolitan territory and organize work based on customer and business requirements.
Support a variety of diagnostic imaging equipment as assigned.
Maintain flexibility to work different shifts and provide overtime support when required by service needs.
Continue developing technical expertise and pursue opportunities for advancement within the field-service organization.
Requirements
Hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, or installing medical diagnostic imaging equipment such as CT, MRI, X-ray, fluoroscopy, radiography, ultrasound, or related imaging systems.
Demonstrated field-service experience working independently at customer locations.
Strong troubleshooting capability across electrical, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, or computerized equipment systems.
Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance and resolving equipment failures in the field.
Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to represent the organization professionally at healthcare facilities.
Ability to accurately document service activity, parts usage, labor/time, and equipment history using a field-service or work-order management system.
PACE or a similar service-management software experience is preferred; experience with a comparable field-service management or work-order platform may be considered.
Ability to work effectively in a geographically assigned service territory.
Willingness to work varying shifts and overtime when business requirements dictate; advance notice will be provided for planned schedule changes.
Associate degree, college, or military experience in a related technical field.
Relevant technical education in biomedical engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, medical equipment technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience supporting multiple imaging modalities or complex diagnostic imaging systems is highly desirable.
Experience with a major medical imaging equipment manufacturer or healthcare technology organization is a plus.
The position requires a hands-on approach to field service rather than an exclusively administrative, managerial, or software-support role.
