A multidisciplinary in-house team manages gypsum work, partitions, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, air conditioning, painting, polishing, and civil work. Role Description The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Interior Designing and Contracting will oversee end-to-end operations for design and build projects, ensuring that all work aligns with client requirements, quality standards, and timelines. This full-time, on-site role is based in Mumbai and involves coordinating cross-functional teams, including design, project management, procurement, site execution, and vendor partners. The COO will manage project pipelines, allocate resources, monitor budgets and margins, and implement operational processes that support scalable growth. Daily responsibilities include reviewing project progress, resolving operational issues on-site, approving key contracts, driving compliance with safety and quality norms, and maintaining transparent communication with clients and senior leadership. The role also includes mentoring team members, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration, and contributing to strategic planning and business development for the organization.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in interior contracting, construction, or related project-based industries, with responsibility for multi-site operations.
Strong skills in project planning, scheduling, and execution, including budget management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Experience managing cross-functional teams (design, engineering, procurement, site execution) and collaborating with external vendors and contractors.
Ability to establish and improve operational processes, quality standards, and compliance with ISO and safety requirements.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and client communication skills, with a focus on building long-term relationships.
Comfort with data-driven decision-making, performance metrics, and reporting to senior leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent management qualification is an advantage.
Hands-on experience with commercial interiors (offices, retail, hospitality, institutional spaces) in the Mumbai market or similar metropolitan environments.
