I'm working with a fast-scaling company building the infrastructure behind next-generation AI compute - acquiring power, designing, and operating data centers at hyperscale speed. They're hiring a Pre-Construction Manager to lead pre-construction on large-scale GPU data center projects.
What you'll do:
Lead constructability reviews across electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil design, with a focus on high-density power distribution (100+ kW/rack), liquid cooling, and utility interconnections
Run site evaluations covering electrical capacity, utilities, civil/structural conditions, and phasing
Build construction scope packages and RFPs, and manage GC bid reviews and subcontractor evaluations
Own construction cost analysis from concept through GMP
Build handoff packages for Construction Managers and support contract negotiations
What they're looking for:
Proven experience leading pre-construction on large-scale data center or mission-critical industrial projects
Comfort reviewing designs across multiple engineering disciplines
Strong site due diligence, scope development, GC management, and cost analysis skills
Willingness to travel 20-30% and build project teams across regions
Bonus: hyperscale data center background, high-density power systems experience, modular/prefabricated delivery exposure
Locations: Austin, TX / New York, NY / San Francisco, CA / Seattle, WA
Compensation: $185K-$240K + equity + benefits
