🚀 Fabric Data Engineer | Alkemiz
Alkemiz is hiring a Fabric Data Engineer to join our Data, Engineering & Architecture team. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where you'll build and maintain the pipelines, Lakehouse objects, and semantic model integrations that power our Microsoft Fabric platform — working to designs and standards set by our Fabric Data Lead.

💼 What You'll Do:
🔹 Build and maintain Fabric pipelines and notebooks for ingestion and transformation across bronze/silver/gold layers
🔹 Develop and maintain Lakehouse and Warehouse tables, ensuring data quality and following agreed naming/workspace conventions
🔹 Integrate datasets into Power BI semantic models; support and troubleshoot Direct Lake mode implementations
🔹 Work through a structured Code → Review → DevOps → Deployment pipeline
🔹 Monitor and flag CU spikes or performance issues; optimise notebook/pipeline performance under guidance from the Lead
🔹 Fix defects and production hotfixes within agreed SLAs; contribute to root-cause analysis for incidents attributable to own work
🔹 Maintain governance documentation — asset catalogues, ownership registers, and lineage for all owned assets
🔹 Apply data lifecycle/retention rules, row-level security, and sensitivity labelling as defined by the governance framework
✅ Must-Have Skills:
🔸 3–7 years' experience in a data engineering role
🔸 Minimum 1 year of hands-on Microsoft Fabric project experience
🔸 Solid SQL and Python/PySpark proficiency for pipeline and notebook development
🔸 Working knowledge of medallion (bronze/silver/gold) architecture
🔸 Comfortable working within a defined CI/CD and code-review process
⭐ Good to Have:
🔸 Relevant Microsoft certification (e.g., DP-700)
📍 Location: Offshore staff-augmentation role — dedicated FTE, working closely with an Australian-based team
