Role Description The Vice-President of Project Management is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading complex, cross-functional initiatives that support Carlyle’s strategic and operational objectives. In this position, the individual will oversee project and program planning, define scope and timelines, manage budgets, and ensure that key milestones are met across global teams and business units. Daily responsibilities include coordinating stakeholders, monitoring project risks and dependencies, reporting progress to senior leadership, and implementing best practices in project governance and execution. The role also involves mentoring project managers, standardizing methodologies and tools, and driving continuous improvement in project delivery, communication, and resource utilization. This position requires close partnership with investment, operations, technology, and finance teams to align projects with business priorities and measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
Strong Project Management skills, including project planning, execution, and risk management across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Proven Program Management experience overseeing complex portfolios, aligning projects with strategic goals, and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting data, assessing project performance, making evidence-based decisions, and presenting insights to senior leaders.
Budgeting and financial oversight capabilities, including cost estimation, tracking, variance analysis, and optimization of project resources.
Experience leading distributed or remote teams, with excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain standardized processes, tools, and templates for project governance and reporting.
Background in financial services, private equity, asset management, or a related industry is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2) are preferred.
