Mortgage Compliance Specialist

About the role
Stockton Mortgage is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support its mortgage Compliance Department’s operations. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for administering the vendor management program, audit support, along with supporting the compliance team as needed for the ongoing development, review, and execution of its operational compliance functions. Stockton will look to the Specialist for the active identification, response and escalation to the Senior Compliance Manager of compliance risks found during reviews, regulatory change management and monitoring as appropriate.
Essential Duties
Reviewing new vendor submissions and obtaining necessary materials for vendor reviews
Reviewing advertising alerts for state/federal compliance
Reviewing new TPO submissions for Compliance and monitoring ongoing alerts
Conducting branch audits and such other internal audits as identified by the Sr. Compliance Manager
Seeking operational efficiencies within Compliance workstreams
Who you are
3+ years’ experience in a mortgage compliance or financial compliance role
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Working knowledge of Encompass, Microsoft Office and Excel and loan origination systems
Utilize technology and software solutions to monitor and track compliance goals and initiatives
Working knowledge of consumer finance laws and regulations
Ability to manage tasks independently and thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
