SolomonEdwards is looking for a senior IT Infrastructure & Procurement Leader to make disciplined decisions across cost, systems, controls, and automation. The engagement documents current-state processes across two functions, Global Finance and CIO / Technology, using a single methodology, governance framework, and documentation standard so that findings in one function trace cleanly into the other.
This role owns two slices of the CIO / Technology workstream: infrastructure process and IT procurement. That means documenting how infrastructure is planned, provisioned, operated, and retired, and how technology is sourced, contracted, licensed, renewed, and paid for. These are the processes where cost concentrates and where the contract, the consumption, and the documented process most often disagree. Your job is to establish what is actually true, to Level 4 procedure detail, and to convert that baseline into sized, evidence-backed opportunities.
Required Qualifications
15+ years in enterprise IT infrastructure and operations: director, senior manager, or VP level covering data center, cloud, network, endpoint, and platform operations, with hands-on delivery experience rather than purely advisory exposure.
IT procurement, sourcing, and vendor management ownership: has run or directly governed technology purchasing, contract negotiation, renewals, and supplier performance, not just consumed the process from the requester side.
Software asset and license management: practical command of entitlement, true-ups, audits, and license position for major publishers, and the controls that hold a license position together.
Current-state assessment and diagnostic experience: has entered an environment with unknown documentation maturity and produced a credible baseline on a compressed timeline.
Process documentation to Level 4: has authored procedures and flowcharts to a defined taxonomy and process-record standard rather than improvising deliverable formats.
Cost optimization with quantified results: can point to infrastructure, cloud, licensing, or vendor savings personally delivered and explain how they were evidenced and verified.
Procure-to-pay fluency: understands requisition through payment in an ERP context, including approval hierarchies, purchase order and receipting discipline, accruals, and capital versus expense treatment.
Hybrid and cloud operating experience: on-premises, colocation, and public cloud, including managed service provider arrangements and what the handoffs actually cost.
Consulting-grade communication: can hold a room of skeptical infrastructure and procurement leaders and write for a CIO and CFO audience without translation help.
US-based onshore delivery: the engagement commits to 100% US-based.
Preferred Qualifications
Interactive entertainment, digital media, or streaming environments, including studio and live-service infrastructure.
Private-equity-backed or newly private companies; post-merger, carve-out, or separation experience touching infrastructure and contract assignment.
Familiarity with APQC process classification frameworks and with ITIL or comparable service management discipline.
FinOps or cloud cost management practice experience, including tagging, showback, and commitment-based discount management.
Working knowledge of procurement and contract lifecycle platforms such as Coupa, Ariba, Zip, Ironclad, or comparable, and of ITSM and asset platforms such as ServiceNow.
IT compliance and control exposure, including SOX IT general controls, vendor risk review, and segregation of duties in purchasing.
Practical use of GenAI tooling for documentation, transcription, and synthesis, with clear judgment about where it does not belong.
Experience with process repositories and mapping tools such as Coda, Miro, Visio, Lucid, or M365-native equivalents.
