Bilingual Portuguese STEM Expert (PhD) – AI Safety & Model Evaluation
We are seeking highly qualified scientists with advanced academic backgrounds and strong Portuguese and English communication skills to support the evaluation and improvement of next-generation AI systems.
This opportunity is designed for researchers and subject-matter experts who can bring deep scientific knowledge to AI evaluation tasks involving technical and potentially sensitive topics. Previous experience in artificial intelligence is not required, as training on the evaluation workflow will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Create scientifically accurate prompts and scenarios in Portuguese.
• Review AI-generated answers for technical accuracy, relevance, clarity, and safety.
• Assess model behavior when responding to specialized scientific or sensitive content.
• Apply predefined evaluation criteria consistently across different tasks.
• Provide concise, well-structured feedback explaining errors, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Candidate Profile
• PhD completed or currently in progress in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related discipline.
• Native or near-native Portuguese proficiency.
• Strong written and professional English.
• Solid understanding of laboratory, research, or computational methods within your scientific field.
• Strong analytical judgment and attention to scientific detail.
• Ability to evaluate technical information objectively and responsibly.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
• Organic or inorganic chemistry
• Molecular biology
• Microbiology
• Virology
• Genetics
• Biochemistry
• Radiochemistry or nuclear chemistry
• Radiation-related scientific disciplines
• Other closely related STEM fields
Additional experience in scientific content review, technical assessment, red teaming, laboratory safety, biosafety, biosecurity, or responsible research practices is a plus.
