Engineering Manager (Player-Coach), Inovetix
Location: Remote | Reports to: CEO | Type: Contract-to-Hire (2-month initial contract)
About the Role
Inovetix is hiring an Engineering Manager whose job is to turn engineering into revenue. You will build and lead the engineering team, write production code on our stack, and work side by side with our GTM, Sales, and Marketing teams so that what we build sells.
This is a player-coach role:
50% hands-on: coding, architecture, and working with AI agents
50% leadership: people, process, delivery, and cross-team execution
You are the single accountable owner of engineering at Inovetix. Every engineering task, deadline, release, and quality outcome rolls up to you. You report directly to the CEO, and you are expected to justify your technical and delivery decisions with data and clear reasoning. The role has a clear growth path to Head / VP of Engineering.
The Four Things That Define This Role
Generate revenue. Engineering exists to grow the business. You prioritize work by business impact, ship what customers will pay for, and own the engineering side of our revenue targets.
Work closely with GTM, Sales, and Marketing. You are a partner to these teams, not a separate department.
Lead the engineering team. You hire, manage, mentor, and hold the team accountable for every deliverable.
Stay hands-on in our stack. You write and review production code every week.
Revenue Ownership
Align the engineering roadmap with revenue goals. Every sprint should be explainable in business terms
Prioritize features that drive new sales, conversion, retention, and upsell for our SaaS products and client projects
Launch products fast: MVPs, pricing and subscription flows, billing, onboarding, and analytics that show what is working
Protect project profitability through accurate estimates, controlled scope, and on-time delivery
Identify new revenue opportunities, such as productizing client work, building reusable components, and adding offerings the market is asking for
Report to the CEO on how engineering output connects to revenue, not only on tasks completed
Working with GTM, Sales, and Marketing
Sales: join discovery and technical calls, scope and estimate proposals, build demos and proofs of concept that help close deals, and give Sales honest timelines they can commit to
GTM: plan launches together so that product readiness, positioning, pricing, and release timing move as one plan for the USA and international markets
Marketing: supply product demos, technical content, and case study material; build the tracking, SEO foundations, landing pages, and integrations that campaigns depend on
Feedback loop: turn what Sales and Marketing hear from customers and lost deals into roadmap decisions
Hold a weekly sync with the GTM, Sales, and Marketing leads, with shared priorities and no surprises
Hands-On on Our Stack
Ship production code alongside your team: Python backend, React + TypeScript / Next.js frontend, Node.js / MERN
Own architecture, system design, and scalability decisions across all projects
Review PRs and enforce standards for testing, documentation, and branching (main / dev / feature)
Own CI/CD, environments, monitoring, uptime, and incident response on our cloud infrastructure
Lead AI-first engineering: AI agents, coding tools, and automation that multiply team output
Enforce security: secure coding, access control, credential vault policy, and data protection suitable for US and international clients
Engineering Leadership and Accountability
Build the team from the ground up: define roles, hire engineers, and set culture and standards
Own every engineering task end-to-end, each with an owner, deadline, priority, status, and deliverable
Deliver a weekly engineering report to the CEO covering progress, risks, blockers, forecasts, and team performance
Justify key decisions (architecture, tooling, estimates, hiring, trade-offs) with reasoning and data
When something slips, flag it early, explain why, and present the recovery plan
Track engineering KPIs: sprint completion, delivery speed, deployment frequency, bug rates, and project profitability
Enforce the rules: no task without a ticket, no deployment without review, no undocumented feature
Communicate directly with clients through meetings, demos, and status updates
Run a distributed team with a disciplined daily overlap between Dhaka and US Eastern time
Manage technical debt, cloud costs, and resourcing across projects
Think Beyond Engineering
Think like a product owner. Understand the user, the business model, and what makes a product succeed
Bring ideas proactively: features, new products, and faster ways to get to market
Build to global standards in performance, UX, reliability, and compliance, as expected by customers in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and Europe
Study competitors and market trends, and recommend how our products can differentiate and win
Challenge leadership constructively. If there is a better way, we expect to hear it
Beyond 12 Months
Scale the team and processes to support growing product demand
Own product domains end-to-end, including technical and product decisions
Develop engineers through mentorship, feedback, performance reviews, and career planning
Lead company-wide adoption of AI agents and automation
Grow into the Head / VP of Engineering role
Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
Strong hands-on skills in Python and TypeScript (React / Next.js); Node.js / MERN experience
Proven ability to write production code, review PRs, and design scalable systems
Experience working directly with Sales, Marketing, or GTM teams, with a track record of shipping products that generated revenue
Experience building and scaling engineering teams: hiring, onboarding, and culture
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure; DigitalOcean a plus)
Solid understanding of enterprise-level UI/UX and the full product development lifecycle
Excellent English communication, including direct interaction with international clients
Experience with Agile, sprint planning, and distributed team coordination
An ownership mindset: you take responsibility, report honestly, and don't make excuses
Preferred
Experience with AI/ML systems, LLMs, or agentic programming
Hands-on use of AI coding tools, automation, or agent workflows
Pre-sales or solutions engineering experience
Experience launching SaaS products for US or international markets
Startup or fast-paced agency experience
Experience scaling teams from 5 to 15+ engineers

Compensation and Engagement
50,000 – 70,000 BDT per month, based on experience and leadership capability.
This is a contract-to-hire role. You start on a 2-month contract. Conversion to a full-time permanent position is based on your performance during that period, including delivery, ownership, team leadership, and collaboration with the GTM, Sales, and Marketing teams. Permanent team members have a clear growth path to Head / VP of Engineering.
