Creative Business and Project Development Specialist

Help bring an evolving body of creative work into the world
I’m looking for an experienced, commercially minded and digitally capable person to work alongside me as I develop an evolving creator-led business.
This is not a conventional VA role.
I’m a creator, writer and thought leader developing a body of work around how we live, change and experience our lives. My work includes books, digital experiences and other creative projects, with further ideas developing across areas such as publishing, scent, textiles and other forms of creative and sensory expression.
Some of the work will be digital. Some will not.
What connects it all is the idea behind the work — creating things with meaning, originality and substance that invite people to experience their lives differently.
The Role
I’m looking for someone who can sit alongside the creative process and help turn ideas into well-developed, organised and commercially viable projects.
You will bring practical thinking, digital capability and initiative while I retain responsibility for the creative direction, ideas, writing and final decisions.
The role will include:
* Website (WordPress) management and development
* Digital product presentation, promotion and sales
* Digital marketing and campaign implementation
* Social media and content distribution
* Email marketing and online customer journeys
* Booking and payment systems
* Creative project coordination
* Researching platforms, suppliers and opportunities (not an immediate requirement)
* Helping develop new projects from initial idea through to launch
* Identifying practical and commercial opportunities (not an immediate requirement)
* Coordinating freelancers, suppliers or other specialists where required (not an immediate requirement)
The role will evolve as the business develops. A future project may be a digital product, a book, a physical product, sensory creation, a collaboration or something entirely new.
About You
You are not simply an administrator waiting for a task list.
You are someone who can hear an idea and think: What needs to happen next?
You are comfortable working independently, solving problems, researching unfamiliar territory and making considered recommendations.
You will ideally have experience across several of the following:
* Digital marketing
* WordPress and website management
* Digital products or e-commerce
* Email marketing
* Social media and content distribution
* Online booking and payment systems
* Project management
* Product or campaign launches
* Publishing or creator-led businesses
* Working with freelancers and creative suppliers
You don’t need to be an expert in everything.
What matters most is how you think, your level of initiative, your digital competence and your ability to take an idea and move it forward.

* Is confident researching and solving problems independently
* Can make recommendations rather than simply waiting for instructions

* Can work closely with a creative founder without needing everything prescribed
This Is Not:
This isn’t primarily a data-entry, calendar-management or basic social-posting role.
Nor am I looking for someone to turn the business into a formulaic online marketing operation.
I am looking for someone who can bring structure to creativity, commercial thinking to ideas and practical momentum to projects.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to become an important part of an emerging creative enterprise at an early stage — helping establish the systems, digital presence and practical foundations that will support its development.
The initial engagement will be part-time and may begin with a paid trial period, with the potential for an ongoing relationship as the business develops.
Location: Remote
Hours: Part-time - 15 hrs per week (initially)
Engagement: Contractor
Rate: Based on experience and capability
