Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and strengthening volunteer involvement across the organization. On a day-to-day basis, this role will recruit and onboard volunteers, coordinate schedules, and maintain accurate volunteer records. The coordinator will design and deliver training, provide ongoing guidance and feedback, and respond to volunteer questions or concerns. They will collaborate with program staff to match volunteers with appropriate opportunities, support virtual and in-person events, and develop communication materials to keep volunteers informed and engaged. The role also involves assisting with community outreach efforts, gathering data to assess program effectiveness, and recommending improvements to volunteer policies and processes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training to effectively recruit, onboard, and support volunteers.
Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, provide clear guidance, and respond to volunteer needs.
Candidates should possess experience or interest in Community Outreach to help expand volunteer participation and strengthen partnerships.
Comfort with remote work tools, including video conferencing platforms, shared documents, and volunteer management systems.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple volunteer schedules and priorities.
Experience coordinating volunteers, community programs, or events is preferred but not required.
Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in nonprofit management, social services, or related fields is an asset.
