Company Description GHC Hospitals is a 140-bed super specialty tertiary healthcare center located near the Thane–Shil Road in Kausa, Mumbai, set in calm, green surroundings that support preventive, curative, and rehabilitative care. The hospital spans 40,000 square feet and is equipped with 25 ICU beds, a 5-bed PICU, a 7-bed NICU, four major modular operation theaters, a minor operation theater, a Cath lab, and an endoscopy suite. Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at GHC Hospitals in Mumbai. This role is responsible for overseeing procurement of medical equipment, supplies, pharmaceuticals, and non-medical materials required for hospital operations. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The Purchasing Manager monitors inventory levels, collaborates with clinical and administrative departments to understand requirements, and maintains adherence to budget, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines. The role also involves tracking purchasing metrics, resolving supply issues, optimizing procurement processes, and supporting cost-saving initiatives while maintaining continuity of patient care.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in purchasing or supply chain management, ideally within healthcare or hospital operations.
Strong skills in vendor management, price negotiation, and contract administration.
Ability to analyze inventory data, forecast demand, and manage stock levels efficiently.
Proficiency in using procurement or ERP systems and standard office software.
Knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, and healthcare procurement standards is highly beneficial.
Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; advanced certifications in purchasing or supply chain are an advantage.
Proven ability to work on-site in a fast-paced hospital environment, manage multiple priorities, and support cross-functional teams.
