Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Academic Leader to provide strategic and academic leadership, drive school-wide improvement, and strengthen teaching-learning practices.
The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of professional experience, with substantial experience in a leadership/academic leadership position within a reputed school or educational institution. The candidate should demonstrate strong academic understanding, leadership maturity, people-management skills, and the ability to translate the school’s vision into measurable academic and institutional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Provide strategic direction for academic planning, curriculum implementation, and teaching-learning practices.
Lead initiatives to enhance academic standards and student learning outcomes.
Monitor curriculum delivery and ensure effective implementation across grades and subjects.
Develop and implement academic improvement plans based on student performance and school priorities.
Promote innovative, experiential, and student-centric approaches to learning.
Ensure effective assessment practices and use of academic data to drive improvement.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop teaching teams and academic coordinators.
Conduct regular reviews of teaching practices and provide constructive feedback.
Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
Support recruitment, induction, performance evaluation, and development of academic staff.
Work closely with teachers and coordinators to address academic and classroom challenges.
School Operations & Coordination
Collaborate with the Principal and school leadership team in planning and executing school-wide academic initiatives.
Ensure smooth coordination between academic departments, teachers, students, and parents.
Contribute to the development and review of academic policies, processes, and standards.
Support school events, academic programmes, inspections, and institutional initiatives.
Maintain appropriate academic documentation, reports, and performance reviews.
Student Development
Ensure that academic programmes support the holistic development of students.
Promote critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and other future-ready skills.
Monitor student progress and identify areas requiring academic intervention or additional support.
Encourage participation in academic competitions, projects, experiential learning, and enrichment programmes.
Parent & Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain professional and effective communication with parents and other stakeholders.
Address academic concerns constructively and ensure timely resolution.
Represent the school professionally in academic forums, meetings, and external engagements where required.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should:
Have 8+ years of experience in school education, with significant experience in a leadership/academic leadership role.
Have experience in a reputed school, preferably with exposure to CBSE/ICSE/IB or other established school curricula.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, pedagogy, and academic quality improvement.
Have proven experience in leading and mentoring teachers or academic teams.
Possess the maturity and confidence to work with senior management, teachers, students, and parents.
Be able to independently manage academic responsibilities while contributing to broader school-development initiatives.
Demonstrate a progressive outlook towards education and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Education
Essential:
Postgraduate degree in Education or a relevant subject.
B.Ed. or equivalent professional teaching qualification preferred/required as applicable.
