The organization supports the Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support (HTMS) program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT). It operates in the government healthcare technology sector, addressing the need for effective IT solutions that support veterans' health services through the development and management of software systems.
2. About the Opportunity:
The SQA Tester role is responsible for ensuring that IT products meet specified requirements through the design and implementation of testing methods. This position contributes to the quality and reliability of healthcare software by collaborating with developers and end users to create and execute test plans, track defects, and improve testing processes. The role supports the delivery of dependable software systems critical to veterans' health services.
3. Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment to verify product performance
Collaborate with developers, end users, and organizations to create test plans and scripts
Coordinate test events with test sites and team participants
Develop and execute testing procedures including functional, regression, and deployment tests
Ensure testing processes are followed and produce reports on test activities
Track test metrics and monitor for continual improvement through failure and yield analysis
4. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific/technical discipline plus 10 years of experience, or 8 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Experience with software development lifecycle
Experience testing Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications, Section 508 compliance, and Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA)
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Proficiency with MS SharePoint and MS Teams
Experience using Jira in Agile or SAFe environments
Demonstrated ability to work remotely with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
