Role Description The Senior Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi, responsible for driving sales growth and managing key accounts in the assigned territory. This role includes planning and executing sales strategies, meeting revenue and volume targets, and expanding the dealer and distributor network for industrial and automotive product lines. The Senior Area Sales Manager will conduct regular market visits, build and maintain relationships with OEMs, vendors, retailers, and channel partners, and identify new business opportunities. Daily activities involve forecasting and reporting, monitoring competitor activity, coordinating with marketing and production teams, and ensuring timely order fulfillment and customer support. The role also includes mentoring and guiding junior sales staff, organizing product demonstrations, and participating in trade fairs and industry events.
Qualifications
Proven experience in territory or area sales management, preferably in paints, coatings, automotive, or industrial products.
Strong skills in business development, key account management, and channel management for dealers and distributors.
Ability to analyze sales data, prepare forecasts, and develop effective sales plans and strategies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
Comfort with on-the-ground market visits, customer meetings, and handling technical product queries.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a focus on meeting targets and deadlines.
Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, CRM tools) for reporting and planning.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
Prior experience in managing a sales team or mentoring junior sales professionals is desirable.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and adapt to dynamic market conditions.
