Role Description The VP of Wealth Management is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the lab’s long-term financial strategies, with a focus on sustainable growth and stewardship of assets. This role includes developing and executing comprehensive financial and wealth management plans aligned with STAI’s mission and multi-year research priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities involve managing investment portfolios, assessing risk and return, and coordinating with internal leadership and external financial partners to support endowments, grants, and strategic initiatives. The VP will monitor financial performance, produce clear reports and forecasts, and provide guidance on funding allocations, capital planning, and resource deployment. The role also includes establishing and refining financial policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and advising senior leadership on opportunities to enhance financial resilience and impact.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Financial Planning and Finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term capital strategy.
Proven experience in Wealth Management Services, with a track record of stewarding assets for mission-driven or institutional clients.
Strong background in Investments and Investment Management, including portfolio construction, risk management, and performance analysis.
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders and collaborate effectively with executive leadership.
Experience working in or with research, academic, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CFP) are a plus.
