Volunteer Executive Leadership Appointment
For leaders shaping consequential priorities
Nexus Consortium is forming the 2027 founding cohort of its National Leadership Councils.
We are inviting accomplished leaders and recognized experts whose judgment, experience and relationships can strengthen national and international work across risk, technology, resilience and finance.
The Council is not a conventional advisory group.
It brings together leaders who can help identify what matters, challenge assumptions, connect institutions and expertise, and shape the priorities that Nexus advances through its wider network, Nexus Universe and Nexus Foundry.
Leadership Council
Founding Members contribute at the level where their experience has the greatest value.
Members may:
bring senior judgment to emerging risks, opportunities and strategic priorities
contribute expertise and informed challenge
connect relevant leaders, institutions and capabilities
help shape the direction of annual programs and development areas
strengthen national and international partnerships
support resource development where appropriate
participate in selected Council discussions, briefings and strategic sessions
The baseline commitment is approximately two hours per month.
Leadership Program
Council members who want to work more closely with Nexus may separately choose to join the Nexus Leadership Programme.
The Programme is a tailored, year-round engagement built around the individual leader and a priority they want to advance.
It can provide:
a dedicated leadership workspace
a focused Nexus team around the member's priority
targeted intelligence on relevant risks, technologies and opportunities
access to specialists and teams across the Nexus network
participation in selected Nexus Universe exercises, working sessions and demonstrations
early exposure to relevant technologies and capabilities emerging through Nexus Foundry
access to AI, GeoAI, modelling, simulation, data and other technical capabilities where relevant
research, strategic analysis and decision support
opportunities to test ideas and help shape emerging Nexus applications
international collaboration around the member's area of focus
partnership and resource-development support
structured follow-through throughout the year
The Programme is designed for leaders who want to move beyond periodic Council participation and use the wider Nexus ecosystem around a priority of their own. The scope, level of support and programme modalities are agreed separately with each participating leader according to their objectives and the resources required.
What members can help shape
Founding Members have an opportunity to contribute to the development of two major Nexus platforms.
Universe brings leaders, institutions, experts and emerging capabilities together to examine major risks, explore future scenarios, test ideas and develop practical responses.
Foundry is the technology and intelligence environment supporting that work, including AI, geospatial intelligence, modelling, simulation, data, risk analysis and emerging technologies.
About Nexus Consortium
Nexus Consortium is a federated public-interest platform connecting leadership, risk intelligence, technology and finance to help institutions understand change earlier, reduce avoidable risk and strengthen their capacity to act. Its leadership system is led by the Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI), Canada. GCRI works across systemic-risk intelligence, science, technology, evidence and technical assistance. It holds United Nations ECOSOC Special Consultative Status since 2023, participates in World Bank and IMF civil-society channels, is a Santiago Network Member Organization.
